The problem: you have spam filters in your email, right? And even when some spam sneaks through, you can mark it as spam and over time, your spam filter will improve? (Well, in a perfect world it would.)
BUT OH NO! You got a form submission from your website and IT'S MORE SPAM! You can't (and should NOT ever) block the form submission notification email – that came from YOUR website!
So, what CAN you do to stop the growing flood of SPAM that's coming through your website forms?
Meet SpamKiller5000 from 2oddballs!
Overview of SpamKiller5000
The SpamKiller5000 (SK5K) system is an advanced spam filtering solution – developed by 2oddballs – that uses cutting-edge (we're talking state-of-the-art) AI models to protect your website’s forms from spam, phishing attempts, and other unwanted submissions.
The primary filter does all the heavy lifting, using the same tech that powers ChatGPT to filter out all unwanted form submissions.
If SPAM gets through to you OR if a legitimate email gets marked as SPAM – you'll have a handy link you can click to visit the SpamKiller5000 Feedback form where you can copy and paste the content that the system marked incorrectly, mark the content correctly (if it's spam that got past the filter, you mark it SPAM. If it's a legit email that got marked as SPAM, you mark it NON-SPAM), and then leave an additional note about the content, if you like.
The real magic happens when you submit the feedback to the system! Once you submit feedback, our proprietary set up converts your feedback into a format the AI model can use to compare to future submissions (called a "vector store" object). That's right, you can provide feedback directly to our system to help it ACTUALLY improve over time!
How SpamKiller5000 Works
SK5K captures and analyzes form submissions after they are submitted on your site and filters them based on the content. It does not prevent anyone (or anything) from actually filling out the forms. If we – 2oddballs – built your website, your forms already have basic security measures in place (e.g. honeypot fields, reCaptcha v3, etc.). But spammers are getting more and more clever by the day, and they have more tools at their disposal than ever.
That's where SpamKiller5000 comes in.
Primary Filtering: Form submissions are first passed to the primary filter system, and they are processed to determine their legitimacy via predefined criteria and machine learning models (aka AI).
Data Management: Legitimate submissions are forwarded on to you, the client user, as they normally would be. But they are also conveniently stored in a dedicated database, while spam is segregated.
Costs and Subscription Plans
SK5K is offered under three different subscription tiers, which are based on the average number of form submissions you receive each month and are designed to accommodate businesses of all sizes. There's a 20% discount for annual billing.
Current Offerings:
- Starter (best for most websites): $15/month for up to 500 form submissions.
- Business+ (for larger small businesses and small eCommerce sites): $30/month for up to 1,500 submissions, ideal for medium traffic.
- Enterprise: $50/month for unlimited submissions, designed for high-traffic sites

Using SpamKiller5000
Once we set you up with the SpamKiller5000 system and run a test or two, here's all you need to do to ensure you're getting the most out of it:
- Check Your Submissions: Each time you're sent a form submission, you'll also get a link to the full form submission database. You'll want to regularly review that submissions database. The Form Submissions database will look like an excel spreadsheet, and it will have three "sheets" (tabs along the bottom). The three sheets are: Legit Submissions, SPAM, and ALL FEEDBACK. Legit submissions should contain any legitimate form submissions made on your website. SPAM should contain all the SPAM. The ALL FEEDBACK sheet will contain any feedback you submitted to the system, for your reference.
- NOTE: You will be asked how often you want to be reminded to check the SPAM sheet (located in form submissions spreadsheet). Your options are: Weekly (once a week, On Friday morning), Bi-Weekly (every other week, on Friday morning), or Monthly (on the first of every month). Depending on what option you choose, you'll be sent a reminder (along with a link) to easily and quickly review all form submissions that have been marked as SPAM.
- Provide Feedback: Use the SK5K feedback form to report any inaccuracies in spam filtering. The feedback form link can be found in any of the emails you get from the system. See below for more info.
Providing Feedback to the System
If you encounter a false positive or negative, follow the link provided in your notification emails to access the feedback form. Your inputs are crucial in refining the effectiveness of SK5K. You'll want to first copy the form submission data out of the email in which it was sent to you, and then you'll paste it into the field labeled "*PASTE CONTENTS OF FORM SUBMISSION HERE". After you paste in the content for which you're providing feedback, you'll fill in a few more fields to tell the system what it got wrong, and then you hit submit – the system handles the rest!
SpamKiller5000 is your best ally in managing form submissions and preventing SPAM. Our commitment is to continuously enhance the system based on your feedback and evolving needs.
